"A White Line Steamer on Lake Hopatcong" This imagery was originally featured on postcards from The Rotograph Co. of New York City which published postcards from 1904-1911. This image is pre- 1905.
The "White Line", owned by The King Brothers, was one several companies that operated passenger boats that would ferry vacationers to and from the railway station to their hotels on Lake Hopatcong during the lake's heyday as a resort location during the late 19th century and early 20th century. The vessel shown in this photo was the largest of the ferry boats on the lake, a double deck side wheel paddle steamer named "Hopatcong".
This is a new derivative work of the original image. The original image has been scanned, digitally repaired and enhanced by me to bring out it's detail, and to make the image look as it would have when it was new, back in the day.
Please note: "The Fine Art America" watermark in the corner of the image will not appear on your purchase...
