Description
Lake Hopatcong In The Good Old Summer Time" This comic imagery was originally featured on postcards from the late 19th and early 20th century.
This gag photo was photographed at Lake Hopatcong by local photographer William J. Harris in 1899.
One of the trademarks of W.J. Harris were his humor and novelty postcards. Vacation time at Lake Hopatcong encouraged people to loosen up a little and laugh, and humorous scenes were in high demand to send back to friends in the cities.
There are 3 version of this image available for purchase:
Version 1: The original image as it appeared on postcards with the words “Lake Hopatcong” and “In The Good Old Summer Time” printed on the image.
Version 2: The words "Lake Hopatcong" at the bottom of the image have been removed, but the words "In The Good Old Summer Time" remain.
Version 3: All the words at the bottom of the image have been removed.
This is a new derivative work of the original image. The original image has been scanned, digitally repaired and enhanced by me to bring out it's detail, and to make the image look as it would have when it was new, back in the day.
Please note: "The Fine Art America" watermark in the corner of the image will not appear on your purchased order.
