Description
Combining a smoking pipe with an iron axe, this pipe tomahawk was left behind after an attack by Iroquois, Loyalist and British Forces on Revolutionary soldiers and settlers in New York's Cherry Valley in 1778. Led by Mohawk Thayendanegea (Joseph Brant), this attacking force included 300 Seneca Indian fighters, many of whom had fought against American-allied Oneida Indians tab the Battle of Oriskany.
