Artist's Description
The doors located at the bottom of the spire of the Morristown United Methodist Church located at South Park Place in Morristown NJ. The Norman-style façade and spire were designed by S.D. Hatch and date to 1866-70. The Church was restored after a devastating fire in 1972 that left only the spire tower and front wall standing. The purplish stone on the façade is called 'puddingstone', a locally occurring quartz conglomerate and popular building material.
